VPS is uniquely placed to prepare statistics and extracts of the securities-related data that is held in the securities depository and on securities accounts.
We produce a number of regular reports on the securities registered in VPS and on the composition of investors in Norwegian registered securities.

Registered with VPS at 31 December
VPS issues a statistical analysis of securities registered with VPS at 31 December each year, showing the number of holders and market capitalisation analysed by Norwegian private investors, Norwegian corporate investors and foreign investors. This information is provided for all categories of security registered with VPS, i.e. bonds, short-term bonds, shares, equity certificates and fund units, and the reports are available for each year from 2005 onwards.
Trading by foreign investors
This report shows the percentage share of the value of transactions carried out on Oslo Børs where one of the parties is a foreign brokers, and the percentage share of the value of transactions carried out by foreign investors that are settled through the VPS Settlement System. This report is updated on a monthly basis.
Analysis of ownership interests in stock exchange listed companies
This report provides analysis of ownership interests in stock exchange listed companies (shares and equity certificates listed on Oslo Børs). The report provides monthly figures from and including 31 December 2000 to and including the last day of the previous month. Information is also provided on the split between shares and equity certificates for each category of owner. This report is updated on a monthly basis.
Analysis of private investors
The shares of companies listed on Oslo Børs are held by foreign investors, private sector companies in Norway, Norwegian public sector entities and Norwegian private investors. This report presents a year-by-year analysis of Norwegian personal investors’ holdings of equities and equity certificates, showing the breakdown between men and women, by age group, and by geographic location in Norway.
