Public access to the share register/register of shareholders
VPS is not permitted to answer enquiries on the identity of shareholders in VPS-registered companies. The rules on access to shareholder information are set out in regulations issued pursuant to the Public Companies Act, and include the following stipulation: “The share register must be available for inspection by anyone at the company’s office during normal business hours. If the company does not have an office, the shareholder records must be available at the company’s place of business during normal business hours”.
