Notification that the Norwegian Competition Authority may intervene against the merger
The decision to merge Oslo Børs and VPS was approved by extraordinary general meetings of both companies held on 11 June.
Oslo Børs and VPS have today received notification from the Norwegian Competition Authority that it may intervene against the merger between the companies. The Competition Authority has issued a press release in this respect.
Oslo Børs and VPS submitted a complete notification of the merger to the Competition Authority on 11 May. The Competition Act stipulates that if the Competition Authority decides to make a possible reasoned decision to intervene, this must be done within 70 working days of receipt of the complete notification, cf. Section 20, third paragraph, first sentence, of the Competition Act.
Any such decision to intervene must be presented to the parties involved, and the parties must reply within 15 working days.
