GF Custody is a solution offered to sub-custodians to assist in connection with annual general meetings. In order for foreign investors to exercise their voting rights, VPS offers a solution that efficiently automates the re-registration of nominee-registered shares and registers the proxy voting instructions.

The solution provides a list of general meetings due to be held by companies that use the VPS General Meetings service. Using the voting instructions it receives from its customers either as SWIFT messages or in some other way, a sub-custodian can itself carry out the transfer of registration from nominee accounts to individual VPS accounts and register the proxy voting instructions. The solution includes functionality to open new individual VPS accounts if customers do not already have such an account.

Once the general meeting has been held, the system automatically transfers the shares back to the original nominee account on the date designated in advance by the sub-custodian.
